The 1-legged step-back fade-away jump shot (Basketball 4 life, Pt. V)

For non-Hoop nerds,
it’s not so easy to understand
what kind of an impact
Dirk had on basketball.

Let me clarify:
It’s not about his legacy in the NBA,
the title, the points, the awards.

It’s about the impact
he had on the game itself.

One of the beauties of Basketball is
that the sport is still evolving.
And Dirk contributed by adding his speciality:
the 1-legged step-back fade-away jump shot.

It’s a unique,
and as the name suggests,
pretty complicated move
that he – with the help of the mad professor –
invented and gifted to the game.

Think about it as if Roger Federer
was the first tennis player ever
to do a backhand slice
and now it's part of the game.

Or someone saying "wassup"
and now everyone is saying it.

Well, in hoops,
we have Kareem’s Skyhook,
Iverson’s Crossover,
Šarūnas Marčiulionis’ Euro Step,
Hakeem’s Dream Shake
and we got Dirk’s flamingo fadeaway.
